Panelists shared their insights on collaborative systems change initiatives: multi-sector plans on aging and reframing aging.

This panel discussion took place the same week that Governor Pritzker signed an executive order to develop a Multi-Sector Plan for Aging in Illinois that addresses the needs of older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers.

Our Senior Director of Training and Community Partnerships, Adela Carlin, joined the panel to share how we work with our coalition partners to advocate for robust investment and equitable policies that support community well-being across the lifecourse and the importance of applying an intersectional approach to addressing the diverse and overlapping needs of people in Illinois. She also thanked RRF for supporting our new Reframing Aging Training initiative to build a new narrative about human services and aging. The panel also included Margie Schaps from the Health and Medicine Policy Research Group, and the Illinois Aging Together Campaign and Emily Hinsey from Grantmakers in Aging (GIA).

Thank you to the RRF Foundation for the opportunity to share our insights and supporting our Reframing Aging initiative and to Serena Worthington for moderating this important discussion.
