This September, Illinois Partners will launch our new advocacy training series, Shaping the World we Want to See: Advocacy for Human Service Professionals.

This series is designed to prepare human service professionals to effectively engage in state-level advocacy and gain a clear understanding of the legislative process, learn advocacy strategies, and develop skills in communicating with policymakers.

Through interactive discussions, hands-on exercises, and real-world examples, attendees will explore how to craft compelling messages, mobilize supporters, and track policy developments that impact human services.

This training is open to all human service professionals (i.e. frontline providers, administrators, and advocates) and participants have the option to attend one session or all three sessions in this series.

This dynamic series will feature three two-hour sessions on Wednesdays:

  • Introduction to Advocacy – September 10
  • Lessons from Illinois Advocates – September 17
  • Developing an Advocacy Strategy and Galvanizing Support – September 24

Stay tuned for registration information in early August or reach out with questions to Katherine Cavanaugh, Training Manager at katherine@illinioispartners.org.
