Illinois Partners is proud to offer a new racial equity training for human service leaders who want to deepen their understanding and commitment to racial equity.
The training, Advancing Racial Equity in Our Sector and the Systems in Which We Advocate, is open to individuals in leadership roles, including directors, managers, and leaders of committees, workgroups, and task forces. This virtual experience will be an interactive workshop with a mix of presentations, group discussions, and breakout sessions and will provide opportunities to share best practices, challenges, and strategies for moving past power dynamics created by white supremacy and racial injustice.
Our training will be conducted by Illinois Partners staff, racial healing practitioners and guest facilitators who are leaders in racial justice work.
All participants must complete a self-assessment and commit to attending all four sessions (October 3, 10, 17, and 24). There is no cost to participate in this training but spaces are limited to ensure meaningful engagement.
Due to limited space, we kindly request that each organization limit participation to 1-2 members who are currently involved in planning or implementing projects or initiatives focused on advancing racial equity. We will offer additional racial equity training opportunities in 2025.
The four sessions will be held on Thursday mornings, October3, 10, 17, and 24, 9 am to noon
If you would like to learn more about this training, you can view the slides from our recent webinar here or contact our Senior Director of Training and Community Partnerships, Adela Carlin (adela@illinoispartners.org).
