Last month, Strategy Committee Member Anne VanderWeele (New Moms) and Alyssa Mendez (Metropolitan Family Services) convened members of the Chicago Alliance for Collaborative Effort (CACE).

Participant including Lawrence Hall, Catholic Charities, Thresholds, Casa Central, YMCA and more – as well as state legislators – met to discuss how we can work together to improve wages of workers at human service organizations.
We were excited to learn that legislators are ready to work towards more investment in human services. Stay on the lookout for more legislator roundtables in the coming months – we will strategize around specific policies that can improve wages and funding for community-based human service organizations.
