Building Power in Human Services: Advocacy in Action

Illinois Partners is proud to offer advocacy training for human service professionals who want to engage in state-level advocacy. We designed this curriculum to focus on our sector, connect advocates throughout the state, promote shared learning and introduce frameworks and tools for effective advocacy. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the legislative process, learn key advocacy strategies, and develop skills in communicating with policymakers. Through interactive discussions, hands-on exercises, and real-world examples, attendees will explore how to connect with legislators and key decision makers, mobilize supporters, and track policy developments that impact human services. This training is open to and designed for all human service professionals with a focus on those who are new to advocacy.
